Tasmanian Landcare Conference and Awards
The 2015 Tasmanian Landcare Awards and Conference ‘Taking Charge of Change’ will be held on 10th and 11th October in the Huon Valley and feature local, Tasmanian and interstate content in field trips, plenary sessions and concurrent workshops exploring three significant themes; Innovation, Knowledge and Celebrating Success. $5.03M funding for Southern Tas
Southern Tasmania will receive $5.03M funding over the next 3 years, as part of the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme (NLP) regional stream, to be delivered by NRM South via a series of programs and partners.

Nominations are now open for the 2015 Tasmanian Landcare Awards. Landcarers from across the state are encouraged to nominate the achievements of a Landcare group or individual for this year’s Awards to be held on 10th October.

Community groups and landholders running environmental projects as well as relevant land managers who want to access the NRM South/ Landcare Tasmania Green Army Team, can consider submitting an EOI to seek an extra pair of hands.

$154K Grants awarded
NRM South has announced the successful recipients of the Naturally Inspired grants for round 8. The 32 recipients of this round include 12 community groups and 20 landholders. Funding of up to $5000 was available per project and selected high value projects also secured additional funding.

NRM Strategy development
The Natural Resource Management Strategy for Southern Tasmania is progressing well, with drafting well underway. The consultation draft is due for completion toward the end of September 2015 with the goal of providing an opportunity for the community to have its say on the draft.

The 2015 TFGA Policy Forum will be held this year 2-3 July in Launceston. The theme of the event is ‘Think outside the Square’ and the conference also features a Field Trip on the Friday and dinner on Thursday night.
