Head of Program Delivery at NRM South
Join our team at our Hobart office. Lead people. Strengthen delivery. Make a difference.
About us
NRM South is one of Tasmania’s regional natural resource management organisations, working in partnership with communities, landholders, industry and government to improve the health of our landscapes, waterways and biodiversity.
We are a values-driven organisation where people:
- care deeply about the environment and Tasmania’s future
- value collaboration and respectful relationships
- bring curiosity, innovation and practical problem-solving
- are committed to delivering real-world impact, not just process
We operate in a dynamic space where science, community, policy and on-ground action come together to deliver meaningful environmental and productivity outcomes.
What you’ll do
This is a senior full-time operational leadership role responsible for turning strategy into high-quality delivery. You will lead program planning and performance, strengthen project management systems and standards, oversee project governance, risk and compliance, and lead a diverse team of program professionals.
Working closely with the CEO and Leadership Team, you will help ensure NRM South delivers on its commitments, achieves measurable environmental and natural resource outcomes and continues to build strong relationships with government, industry, research, community and delivery partners.
We’re looking for a decisive, practical and accountable leader who is comfortable managing complexity, setting clear expectations and bringing people, systems and projects together. You’ll have demonstrated experience leading complex programs or portfolios, strong people leadership capability, and a genuine commitment to natural resource management and public benefit.
This is an opportunity to shape the way a respected regional organisation delivers practical action for biodiversity, water, land and sustainable futures across southern Tasmania.
Join NRM South and help turn strategy into action.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in natural resource management, environmental management, or a related discipline and a strong understanding of program and project management in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, including QA/QC and MERI frameworks. You will have proven experience leading complex programs or portfolios of projects to successful delivery and significant experience managing teams and delivering outcomes in dynamic, resource-constrained environments.
What we offer
You’ll be working in a small team with people who share your values to protect Tasmania’s natural environment. We offer a salary of $127,000-144,000 per year, plus superannuation. NRM South values diversity and inclusion in its team and provides career progression opportunities.
