Join our team at our Hobart office.
About us
We work to keep the natural and productive landscapes of south-eastern Tasmania healthy over the long term. We play a key role in building partnerships, securing and directing investment, connecting knowledge and expertise to action and increasing the capacity of others to engage in NRM activities.
What you’ll do
You’ll play a critical role in supporting NRM South to develop its leadership of strategic climate resilience and circular economy outcomes. The role engages the local community, councils and government to develop relevant solutions for Tasmania’s Southern Region.
This position draws on expertise in ecology, systems thinking, community consultation and stakeholder engagement, along with relevant scientific credentials. You will be working collaboratively with community, industry and government to improve landscape resilience during disaster and protection of natural assets through effective waste utilisation and management.
This leadership role will contribute to NRM South’s strong positioning in Tasmania’s environmental and economic landscape. You will design and develop strategic solutions, attract funding and deliver project outcomes.
You’ll be working collaboratively as part of our broader team to protect southern Tasmania’s natural values, sustainable livelihoods, and lifestyles.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have tertiary qualifications or higher or equivalent experience in ecology, environmental management, sustainability, agriculture, geography or a related field. You will also have a strong interest and capabilities in community engagement and facilitation and a track record of attracting funding.
What we offer
You’ll be working in a small team with people who share your values to protect Tasmania’s natural environment. We offer a salary of $99-104K per year, plus superannuation. Candidates will be considered at the Coordinator level. NRM South values diversity and inclusion in its team and provides career progression opportunities.
